Ada Art Nouveau – Create Every Day challenge 2014 day 20

Today is day 20, of the create every day (CED) challenge 2014 – where I draw or paint or create something and post it every day of the year.

A bit under the weather tonight again – likely due to mountain cedar (juniper ash) allergies here in Texas but who knows.  I was feeling good enough to spend a bit more time on todays challenge.  I plan on working on it some more tonight into a full blown painting but I thought this was a good spot to stop for now for the challenge.  I think I need to use lil dude as a model a bit more, so I went for it today.  Ive had a fascination with Art Nouveau style stuff for the good part of a year so its nice to work on something in this theme.   Its a bit out of my comfort zone, which is always good for progress.

Something just for fun – my Conway T-Pain Mix Tape – CED2014 day 16

Today is day 16, in my create something every day challenge 2014.  – I draw or paint something and post it every day of the year.  So far, so good although my hands are starting to hurt.   The theme this month is “Past, Present, and Future”.  -and speaking of hands, I did not do a hand study tonight, back tomorrow likely with that.

Tonight I did something ridiculous.  I guess its just, well – my kind of night.  (ouch, sorry).  I found something in my truck, while going down a dirt road, headed to a rural location, near a body of water, with a six pack of beer, after I had my catfish dinner – and here it is.  The infamous T-Pain / Conway mix tape.

 T-Pain / Conway mix tape.

winner winner, catfish dinner T-Pain / Conway mix tape.

Obviously this is a joke.  the thought of such a tape is pure absurd.  But if popular country music in 2013 has anything to day about it – this is the American Dream.  NOTE TO NEW VIEWERS – this is NOT a critique of country music.  I love all sorts of music.  I really dont like whats coming out on modern country radio though and this is a spoof on that.   OK back to your auto-tune and regularly scheduled programming.

Johnny Manziel – Create Every Day Challenge 2014 day 11

Today is day 11 of the “Creative Everyday Challenge, 2014″.  Where I draw something and post it every day.  January’s Theme is “Past, Future, and present”

Johnny Manziel, quarterback for the Texas A&M Aggies – announced this week he would be headed to the NFL draft instead of sticking it out in College Station.  So, sticking with the theme, today I worked up something thats been on my list for a long time – an ode to “Johnny Football”.  I think everyone in Aggie Nation will dig this one.

Howlin Wolf – CED 2014 day 10

Today is day 10 of the “Creative Everyday Challenge, 2014″.  Where I draw something and post it every day.  January’s Theme is “Past, Future, and present”

This day, in 1949 vinyl records were introduced by RCA and Columbia.  Elvis was recording his first RCA sessions in 1956.  And, in 1976 Howlin Wolf (aka Chester Arthur Burnett) passed away.  So tonight I spun some Howlin Wolf, mostly from the Sun recordings and went to work.

My Dad Thinks he is a Pirate – Create Every Day challenge 2014 day 5

Today is day 5 of the “Creative Everyday Challenge, 2014″.  Where I draw something and post it every day.  January’s Theme is “Past, Future, and present”

My Dad thinks he is a pirate.  He is building a boat and uses nautical vernacular to explain everyday things. Maybe he was a swashbuckler in his past?  Either way, in the near future is decade(s) long boat project will be done.  Pirate away, ol’ Man.
