My old man was shoveling snow in his driveway up in Michigan last week, and he gets pummeled by the snowplow coming by. He has enough time to turn his back to it but man, that must have been a sight! So, here it is in sort of comic form.

Today is day 56 I think… of the create every (now almost) day challenge 2014. Where I draw, or paint or digitally paint or do some sort of digital painting or what not every week day of the year.
So in my last post I explained what has had me offline for 3 days. Tonight, I worked up an illustration inspired by a friend of mine who calls Lemon Juice – “Juice”. yeah that guy. So I got to thinking, Juice might need a leather vest some day, and he might need a patch on the back. So when he does, because oh yes, he will… Here it is. Dogs of Anarchy style.

So, Ive been posting EVERY DAY of the year so far, something “creative”. When I defined the challenge I was thinking sketches, ideas, things like that. Well, what I find happening is I cant stop at the idea and I spend hours on something that I intended to take 20 minutes, and a lot of my family time gets taken up in the process. I have been balancing fine so far but, on Saturday we got a new addition to team Art Ranch – Lemon Juice ( Lemmy ) VanSingel. He is a French Bulldog and he is awesome.
He is also only 8 weeks old so he is pretty much like having a baby around… although more furry and a lot less work. Any how, I missed out on the challenge this weekend… but I am back at it. I am changing things up a bit and will do a new post ever WEEK DAY… so I get Saturday and Sunday to work on other stuff.

It is Monday, so I threw out the contest on twitter to get to me first – and I would draw you. Well, Rob over at poorlydesigned got a two for one tonight since my contest lacked the legal mumbo jumbo limiting it to one persons mug. so, here you are. Also, they may or may not be zombies.

This weekend represented day 46 and 47 of the create every day (CED) challenge 2014 – where I draw or paint or create something and post it every day of the year. I hit my first real roadblock in the challenge. I was able to post something (although it wasnt great) even when I had the flu earlier last month. But, this last weekend I headed to South Texas, with lots to do with family, separation from the Digital Art Ranch Studio, and very little internet. I tried to post a photo on Saturday but it didn’t work, and I was on the road all day Sunday.
So, Saturday and Sunday were flops. I did learn that I need to plan better, so I am going to put it behind me and go buy a small sketchbook I can use to draw no matter where I am in the world.
Off to work on today’s challenge – day 48.

Still sort of on a beer label kick – although this one is not quite right format wise I can see the last few days of my creating coming through today like a hangover. My buddy Josh answered my plea for ideas on twitter to do a turtle with an injured leg. So, here you go.

Yesterday, I threw it out on Twitter – whoever DM’s me first gets drawn. Tune into last nights post, Loz won and I drew her and it was super fun. Jeremy got to me just seconds after she did so I considered him as runner up. As it turns out today is his birthday and I did not have any better ideas (well a few) so I ended up drawing him. Well, I went a little nuts and went for it more like a full painting instead of sketch/study.
